Newsworthy
Glenn Friedel's work was recently purchased for the set of Army Wives, lifetime tv's new hit drama filmed in Charleston. I originally set out to watch only to see if Glenn's work was shown. Now I am completely addicted. Glenn's work has appeared on many episodes and are clearly visible in more shots than I ever expected. The work is displayed in the office of a psychiatrist, the husband of a female army officer. Congratulations to Glenn Friedel for having his original art featured on national television.
Seth Curcio has recently been asked to write an article for Beautiful/Decay, a national art publication that documents the convergence of fine art, design, fashion, graffiti and other relevant forms of art. Check out the winter edition of Beautiful/Decay Issue U. It is titled the "Institutionalized Issue" and will feature topics related to the artist and the institution. Curcio's contribution will be a 4-page spread on the top alternative, non-commercial, art spaces in the country.
Nathan Durfee was recently recognized as a contibutor in Charleston Magazine. Look for his unique illustrations in Grafitti Mag, Charleston City Paper, and Charleston Magazine.

Modernisme is celebrating it's 1 year anniversary September 8th with an opening reception for iShow: You are Where. iShow is a group show consisting of 7 Modernisme artists and their response to current technology and it's direct influence on communication. Artist roundtable discussions are open to the public and begin at 5 pm. Opening reception from 6 - 9 pm. Hope to see everyone there!
